There is great variety between the east and the west sides of the island - cycling is one of the best ways of taking in the scenery at a leisurely pace. Walking. Walking is an excellent and relaxing way of enjoying the flora, fauna and landscape of the island.

The whole area round about Borvemor is crofting land. The machair abounds in wild flowers in the summer time. Come and observe our Highland cattle and calves along with blackface sheep and lambs based on our croft machair lands early and late summer. Golfers. Come to Harris and enjoy playing on a nearby 9 hole course, recently described as "a panoramic course with more than a few natural hazards, bordering beautiful sandy beaches" |

Fishing. Harris is well known for its Salmon and Fresh water fishing. Permits can be applied for locally. Watersports. We welcome canoeists and other water sports enthusiasts. The beautiful clear waters between Harris and the Island of Taransay are ideal for sailing small craft. And the beaches are just perfect for a summer evening barbeque! |
