Borvemor is ideally placed and suited for all sorts of outdoor activity.
Groups and Clubs are encouraged to come and to pursue their own interests in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Borvemor Studios and the Cottage are ideally suited to the activities on this page.
Artists. Harris is a tremendous source of inspiration for artists. Individuals, groups and teaching schools visit us every year. Art Exhibitions are most welcome.
Cyclists. The coast road offers a wide variety of scenery, with constantly changing views of the sea and the islands. There is great variety between the east and the west sides of the island - cycling is one of the best ways of taking in the scenery at a leisurely pace. Windcarting. Nearby Scarista beach provides the perfect ground for windcarting. Read more The whole area round about Borvemor is crofting land. The machair abounds in wild flowers in the summer time. Come and meet our Eriskay ponies, Highland cattle and sheep! |
Golfers. Come to Harris and enjoy playing on a nearby 9 hole course, recently described as "a panoramic course with more than a few natural hazards, bordering beautiful sandy beaches"
Fishing. Harris is well known for its Salmon and Fresh water fishing. We can arrange
permits for you.
Watersports. We can also offer facilities for canoeists and other water sports enthusiasts. The beautiful clear waters between Harris and the Island of Taransay are ideal for sailing small craft. And the beaches are just perfect for a summer evening barbeque! |
