The location is superb, situated as it is close by an Atlantic Beach which is enjoyable in all weathers and seasons. The accommodation consists of two adjoining steading "cottages" called Stable Cottage and Byre Cottage, an award winning traditional thatched Black House, the Tigh Dubh, which stands a distance away , and Vallay House recently built up from the walls of 18th Century Borvemor House

This beach is within a few minutes walk from Borvemor Cottages
The beach has interesting rock pools and a variety of beautiful shells. Otters are known to frequent it from time to time as well as being seen at nearby islets. There are Blackface sheep and Highland Cattle grazing on the Machair which in summer has an abundance of wild flowers. The hills and moorland are easily accessible with challenging routes for the more adventurous visitor.
