Full of Hebridean charm the Black House, or "Tigh Dubh" as it is called in Gaelic was built in the year 1993, and was the first traditional "Blackhouse" to be built for over a century, winning the prestigious Pinnacle Award.  The Black House provides luxurious romantic accommodation for couples or small families, and is surrounded by machair, croft and sea, with the beach just 200 metres walk away. 

 

The Black House is a unique cosy cottage, with comfortable leather sofas, colourful Harris Tweed cushions and a cheery hearth complete with coal burning stove. The living room with open plan kitchen is spacious and full of character. There is a double bedroom with comfortable king size bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, and in the living room there is a traditional box bed feature in a curtained recess. The bathroom has an electric power shower above the bath and underfloor heating. The Black House has exclusive use of a Hot Tub looking across the Atlantic Ocean.
